An Ecological Momentary Assessment and Intervention Tool for Memory in Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury: Development and Usability of Memory Ecological Momentary Intervention

An Ecological Momentary Assessment and Intervention Tool for Memory in Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury: Development and Usability of Memory Ecological Momentary Intervention

Every 21 seconds, one person in the United States sustains a traumatic brain injury (TBI) [1]. There has been a decrease in deaths caused by TBI in the last 20 years, but there has been no corresponding reduction in the rate of TBI-related disability [2]. TBI is increasingly recognized as a chronic condition, rather than an injury with finite recovery [3]. Symptoms, including memory and learning deficits, may persist for the rest of a patient’s life [3].

Digital Health Readiness: Making Digital Health Care More Inclusive

Digital Health Readiness: Making Digital Health Care More Inclusive

Ms T’s case demonstrates the importance of aptitude testing (eg, prompting a user to show an instructor how they might use a phone app) and how a care team might adjust a digital health care modality to best meet the needs of a patient. Another weakness of current digital health literacy and readiness measures is that they do not integrate passively collected data from the electronic health record to improve efficiency and efficacy.

Effects of a Patient Portal Intervention to Address Diabetes Care Gaps: Protocol for a Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial

Effects of a Patient Portal Intervention to Address Diabetes Care Gaps: Protocol for a Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial

To facilitate patient access to their clinical information, VUMC has implemented a widely adopted patient portal called My Health at Vanderbilt (MHAV) using Epic’s My Chart platform [24]. This patient portal is accessible both via a web-based app and dedicated mobile app compatible with i OS and Android operating systems. This study is a 12-month pragmatic randomized controlled trial (RCT) with a 2-arm, parallel design.

The Goldilocks Dilemma on Balancing User Response and Reflection in mHealth Interventions: Observational Study

The Goldilocks Dilemma on Balancing User Response and Reflection in mHealth Interventions: Observational Study

Although interaction with the technology is a critical measure, there is a growing consensus that cognitive investment is also important for meaningful behavior change in many types of m Health interventions [16-18]. Notably, content may be designed in a way that represents a low response burden, thereby easily eliciting a response (ie, producing high engagement), but such content may not evoke the necessary cognitive reflection required to change behavior [18].

A 3-Item Measure of Digital Health Care Literacy: Development and Validation Study

A 3-Item Measure of Digital Health Care Literacy: Development and Validation Study

Eligible participants were aged ≥18 years; spoke a primary language of English, Spanish, or Arabic; and were a parent or guardian of a child aged Interested and eligible caregivers completed informed consent and a baseline survey. All data were collected using REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture; Vanderbilt University), a secure web-based application designed exclusively to support data capture for research studies.
