Development and Modification of a Mobile Health Program to Promote Postpartum Weight Loss in Women at Elevated Risk for Cardiometabolic Disease: Single-Arm Pilot Study

Development and Modification of a Mobile Health Program to Promote Postpartum Weight Loss in Women at Elevated Risk for Cardiometabolic Disease: Single-Arm Pilot Study

Preeclampsia, preterm delivery, delivery of a small-for-gestational age (SGA) neonate, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, and GDM are independently associated with a 50%-300% increased risk for CVD [5]. About 30% of US women will have at least one of these predictive conditions during pregnancy [4]. Previous studies demonstrate that pregnancy weight retained beyond 6 to 12 months postpartum is usually retained long term and is a powerful independent risk factor for future obesity [6].
