Approximately 3 million individuals live with a spinal cord injury (SCI) worldwide, with 180,000 new cases of SCI reported each year [1]. Although most individuals who sustain a SCI use a wheelchair for mobility, a small but growing number of individuals retain the ability to walk after their injury [2]. More than half of individuals living with a SCI have an incomplete injury, meaning that motor function and ambulation recovery are possible [3].

In other words, the usability study included a qualitative interview within a design that emphasized the core fundamentals of usability testing. Quantitative and qualitative aspects were treated with equal value. On the basis of the best practice recommendations for usability testing [26], a mixed-methods design was chosen to provide a comprehensive evaluation of usability in 4 core areas: effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction, and usefulness.

Although cofacilitation of a home-based strength-training program by a health care professional and peer trainer had a large effect on PA (ie, strength training), findings of this study are limited by a small sample size and lack of a control group [12].
Existing community-based PA programs have implemented important variables that are known to influence PA (eg, coping, action planning, and self-efficacy).
