Developing Digital Therapeutics for Chronic Pain in Primary Care: A Qualitative Human-Centered Design Study of Providers’ Motivations and Challenges

One useful concept that guided our study was the Job-to-be-Done theoretical framework, which suggested that users or customers buy a product to get a job done [28]. Based on this premise, we interviewed primary care providers and asked questions such as what strategies they were using in chronic pain management and why, and the challenges they were trying to solve.
