Community-Dwelling Older Adults’ Readiness for Adopting Digital Health Technologies: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

South Tyrol, the autonomous province of Bolzano, is part of the Trentino–Alto Adige region in Italy, next to Austria (total population: 534,912), with approximately 70% German-speaking, 25% Italian-speaking, and 5% other languages. The target population of the survey comprised approximately 51,000 individuals residing in South Tyrol aged 75 years and older. A stratified probabilistic sampling method was used in this study.

In order to explore the psychometric properties of I-e HEALS, a Web-based survey was conducted among a sample of individuals living in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. This population is very close to the Italian population from a sociocultural point of view and also as regards health information seeking activities on the Web, as they have access to the same information.
