Using Blood Group Genotyping to Predict Hemolysis in Patients With β-Thalassemia Major With Frequent Transfusions: Protocol for a Cross-Sectional Study

According to the World Health Organization, Indonesia has a β-thalassemia carrier prevalence of 3%-10% per year [1], corroborated by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, which reports that 3.8% of the Indonesian population is carrier [2]. Patients with β-thalassemia who require repeated blood transfusions are at risk of transfusion-related complications, including excessive iron accumulation, alloimmunization, infections, and transfusion reactions [3].

The Ministry of Health (Mo H) manages the EHR system in Indonesia, while the EMR system is independently managed by medical providers, such as hospitals, Puskesmas (community health centers), and private clinics. The PHR system, on the other hand, is provided by the Mo H to the citizens of Indonesia [8]. In 2022, the expansion of EMR implementation to encompass all types of health care facilities was enacted through Mo H decree number 24/2022.

High Potassium Diet Rich in Spices and Herbs-Salt Substitution (HPSH-SS) for Blood Pressure Reduction in Older Adults: Protocol for Diet Concept and Randomized Controlled Trial

However, the DASH diet has not yet been fully applied and studied in Indonesia. Indonesia is the largest producer of herbs and spices in the world, which can easily be found in traditional markets, supermarkets, and even in peoples’ homes [27]. The kidney is the main regulator of Na and K in the blood. High K intake stimulates gastrointestinal signaling, specifically enteric K sensors, which increases plasma K levels and aldosterone directly.

Specifically, health issues during disasters are mandated to health clusters, whose members consist of regional health services, rapid health assessment teams, and emergency medical teams (EMTs) from various institutions. The health cluster collects, records, and reports information on survivors and their health conditions during a disaster [2].
