A Conversational, Virtual, Avatar-Led Cognitive Behavioral Therapy App Intervention for Improving the Quality of Life and Mental Health of People With Epilepsy: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

In a recent systematic review (F Lecce, CR Smith, and FR Burbach, unpublished, 2022), we identified six digital mental health interventions for people with epilepsy, but only one of them—Emyna—was a fully automated epilepsy-specific CBT-based program. Emyna is a 180-day internet intervention that requires no clinician support and is accessed via a secure, password‐protected website from a computer or smartphone.
