Development of Depression Data Sets and a Language Model for Depression Detection: Mixed Methods Study

Development of Depression Data Sets and a Language Model for Depression Detection: Mixed Methods Study

The national language of the Philippines, which is called Filipino, is based on an Austronesian language called Tagalog [7]. English is also considered a second language in the Philippines, with both English and Filipino used in written or spoken conversation, and most of the time used together in informal conversation, which forms “Taglish” (the combination of the 2 languages). Although English is a high-resource language, Filipino is considered a low-resource language.

An App-Based Physical Activity Intervention in Community-Dwelling Chinese-, Tagalog-, and Vietnamese-Speaking Americans: Single-Arm Intervention Study

Furthermore, among Asian ethnic groups, Filipino Americans have the highest prevalence of both diabetes and cardiovascular disease in California [17,18]. To help address these health disparities, programs that blend culturally relevant principles with biomedical guidelines have shown success in improving health knowledge and empowerment [19]. More culturally and linguistically relevant interventions to promote physical activity are needed among Asian Americans.

Ichthyosiform Lichen Planus Pigmentosus in a 19-Year-Old Male Patient: Case Report

Ichthyosiform Lichen Planus Pigmentosus in a 19-Year-Old Male Patient: Case Report

A 19-year-old Filipino male patient presented with a 7-year history of asymptomatic grayish macules; patches with fine scales on the face, trunk, and upper extremities (Figure 1 A and 1 B); and grayish plaques with “ichthyosiform” scales on the lower extremities (Figure 1 C and 1 D). We used a manual polarized light device (Dermlite DL3x10, 3 Gen). The dermoscopic finding shows dots and globules in a “hem-like” and reticular pattern, which spares the follicular opening (Figure 2).

Evaluating an Evidence-Based Parenting Intervention Among Filipino Parents: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Over the past 11 years, Javier et al have conducted a series of studies to pinpoint parent training as a community-identified solution to prevent Filipino adolescent behavioral health problems and disparities [49]; pilot-test IY to assess the efficacy, feasibility, and acceptability of this prevention program in community settings in the Filipino population [50]; and develop a theory-based motivational video to increase Filipino parent enrollment rates in IY [53].
