Most CTRSSs described in the recent literature are implemented for only 1 specific trial, medical department, or clinic, but there are also some approaches to develop a CTRSS that can be used for a wide range of CTs [14,16-22]. Several key considerations are necessary for the successful deployment of a CTRSS. First, to implement a CTRSS, it is necessary to have patient records as well as EC in machine-readable format to perform a comparison of both and create a list of potential participants [23,24].
