Changepoint Detection in Heart Rate Variability Indices in Older Patients Without Cancer at End of Life Using Ballistocardiography Signals: Preliminary Retrospective Study

Changepoint Detection in Heart Rate Variability Indices in Older Patients Without Cancer at End of Life Using Ballistocardiography Signals: Preliminary Retrospective Study

Therefore, we focused on continuous and unobtrusive monitoring of patients using heart rate variability (HRV) indices estimated from ballistocardiography (BCG) obtained from a sheet-type device as a means of monitoring their condition. BCG is a measurement of the vibration signals generated by the ejection of the blood at each cardiac cycle [16], which has been used frequently in recent years to acquire biological signals [17-20].

Stimulation of Nucleotide Oligomerization Domain and Toll-Like Receptors 2 to Enhance the Effect of Bacillus Calmette Guerin Immunization for Prevention of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Infection: Protocol for a Series of Preclinical Randomized Controlled Trials

Should a reduction of MTB infection in BCG immunized mice be confirmed with the above experiment, further experiments can be conducted investigating both the underlying mechanisms as well as ways to enhance the effect of BCG by identification of compounds able to reduce MTB infection by enhancing innate immunity with and without concomitant BCG immunization.

In-Home Cardiovascular Monitoring System for Heart Failure: Comparative Study

In-Home Cardiovascular Monitoring System for Heart Failure: Comparative Study

The BCG fills this gap and enables devices to be created that are capable of monitoring cardiac function in the home in an inexpensive way [25-27]. The force present on the seat is measured through 4 independent load cells underneath 4 standoffs placed on the bottom of the seat (Figures 2 and 3). To accurately measure the small forces that correspond to the BCG on a toilet seat, a floating hinge (Figure 3) is required to ensure that all of the load is captured by the load cells [28].
