A Web-Based Audio Computer-Assisted Self-interview Application With Illustrated Pictures to Administer a Hepatitis B Survey Among a Myanmar-Born Community in Perth, Australia: Development and User Acceptance Study

Before the development of each element of ACASI application, potential application sources were explored. A range of ACASI application sources have been used in previous studies. Some researchers have purchased the subscription of ACASI platforms and built surveys on these platforms. Some studies contracted ACASI software developers who had adapted existing applications for each study. Other research teams have developed new applications that are specific to the corresponding studies.

Comparison of the ACASI Mode to Other Survey Modes in Sexual Behavior Surveys in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa: Systematic Literature Review

Comparison of the ACASI Mode to Other Survey Modes in Sexual Behavior Surveys in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa: Systematic Literature Review

The intervention of interest was the use of ACASI in surveys about sexual behaviors and knowledge, attitudes, and practices around HIV, other STIs, and BBVs. The studies that focused on antiretroviral therapy and contraception use or adherence were not selected. The comparators to the ACASI mode were other survey modes with or without biological marker tests. When the ACASI mode was compared to biological markers only, the studies were excluded.

Determining Survey Satisficing of Online Longitudinal Survey Data in the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study: A Group-Based Trajectory Analysis

Determining Survey Satisficing of Online Longitudinal Survey Data in the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study: A Group-Based Trajectory Analysis

During a Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) semiannual visit, study participants are asked to complete an audio computer-assisted self-interviewing (ACASI) behavioral survey. Based on the study by Tourangeau and Yan [30], survey questions about illicit drug use and sexual behaviors are considered sensitive and tend to produce poor data quality.

Ecological Momentary Assessment of Illicit Drug Use Compared to Biological and Self-Reported Methods

Ecological Momentary Assessment of Illicit Drug Use Compared to Biological and Self-Reported Methods

Total weeks of drug use obtained from sweat patch, ACASI, and EMA methods are described in Figure 1. Over 436 weeks of study follow-up, 212 (49%, green bars) sweat patches, 192 (44%, blue bars) ACASI surveys, and 163 (37%, orange bars) weeks of EMA reports were positive for any cocaine use. For heroin use, 103 (24%) sweat patches, 161 (37%) ACASI surveys, and 145 (33%) weeks of EMA reports were captured over follow-up.
