Assessment, Decision, Adaptation, Production, Topical Experts-Integration, Training, and Testing (ADAPT-ITT) Framework to Tailor Evidence-Based Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Treatment for People With HIV to Enhance Engagement and Adherence: Qualitative Results from a Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

In addition, cognitive impairment and increased avoidant behavior experienced as a function of PTSD may contribute to lower levels of antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence for PWH with a comorbid PTSD diagnosis [7]. For instance, PWH reported avoiding their ART because it was a reminder of their status [7] and of a traumatic life event [8], and they reported avoidance of clinic care visits due to fear of prejudice and discrimination from health care providers [9].

An Adapted Cognitive Behavioral Stress and Self-management Intervention for Sexual Minority Men Living With HIV and Cancer Using the SmartManage eHealth Platform: Protocol and Study Design

An Adapted Cognitive Behavioral Stress and Self-management Intervention for Sexual Minority Men Living With HIV and Cancer Using the SmartManage eHealth Platform: Protocol and Study Design

The pilot study will enroll 50 SMM who are HIV positive with a history of a nonmetastatic solid tumor or blood cancer, who will be randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either 10 individual sessions of video-adapted health promotion (HP) content (educational control) or 10 group-based sessions of the Smart Manage intervention facilitated by trained interventionists (Figure 1).

Demonstration and Acceptability of a Safer Conception Intervention for Men With HIV in South Africa: Pilot Cohort Study

Demonstration and Acceptability of a Safer Conception Intervention for Men With HIV in South Africa: Pilot Cohort Study

We aimed to promote safer conception strategies, development of a safer conception plan, planning and problem solving around plan execution, and communication and HIV serostatus disclosure training for a broad population of men with HIV, including those who might not yet be in a mutually disclosed partnership.

Correction: Nurse-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adherence and Depression Among People Living With HIV (the Ziphamandla Study): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Correction: Nurse-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adherence and Depression Among People Living With HIV (the Ziphamandla Study): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

In “Nurse-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adherence and Depression Among People Living With HIV (the Ziphamandla Study): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial” (JMIR Res Protoc 2020;9(2):e14200) the authors noted one error. Under the Methods section subheading "Secondary Outcomes: HIV Viral Load and CD4 Cell Count," the lower limit of the range of detection for the COBAS Ampli Prep/Taq Man HIV-1 test was reported incorrectly as 48. The actual lower limit of this test is 20.

Nurse-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adherence and Depression Among People Living With HIV (the Ziphamandla Study): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Mental health services are not geared to address depressive disorders in general in PLWH in primary health settings, resulting in a large treatment gap—only 25% of persons affected by a common mental disorder ever obtain treatment [6].

A Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Adherence Intervention (LifeSteps) for Young Men Who Have Sex With Men: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

A Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Adherence Intervention (LifeSteps) for Young Men Who Have Sex With Men: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Life Steps is an evidence-based HIV medication adherence intervention for HIV-infected individuals, which was developed by Safren et al [10-12]; it has been adapted for diverse populations [13-15], including adolescents in the “Positive STEPS” project [16].

A Randomized Controlled Trial Protocol to Evaluate the Effectiveness of an Integrated Care Management Approach to Improve Adherence Among HIV-Infected Patients in Routine Clinical Care: Rationale and Design

A Randomized Controlled Trial Protocol to Evaluate the Effectiveness of an Integrated Care Management Approach to Improve Adherence Among HIV-Infected Patients in Routine Clinical Care: Rationale and Design

Previous studies investigating a variety of adherence interventions have reported benefits, although often small [44-46]. Many focused on testing a single device, such as a pager or other electronic reminder system, or investigated the effects of time-intensive costly interventions that are not feasible in most clinical settings, and therefore failed to inform adherence in clinical care [44].
