Developing a Novel Mobile App to Support HIV Testing and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Uptake Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: Formative and Technical Pilot Study

Developing a Novel Mobile App to Support HIV Testing and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Uptake Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: Formative and Technical Pilot Study

Upon completion of the technical pilot at month 2, participants were asked to complete a brief web-based survey to assess preliminary usability and acceptability of the app using the System Usability Scale (SUS), a validated tool assessing various domains of the app with demonstrated high internal consistency across several studies [29]. The SUS is a 10-item scale that measures a system’s usability on a scale of 0 to 100.

Racial and Ethnic Differences in Mobile App Use for Meeting Sexual Partners Among Young Men Who Have Sex With Men and Young Transgender Women: Cross-Sectional Study

A premobile dating app study in San Francisco found Black MSM specifically were reported as less “preferred” partners [7]. Similarly, in a study of MSM recruited on a mobile app in 2015, respondents reported a dis-preference for Black and Asian men as both relationship and sexual partners [8]. In a study based in North Carolina, young Black MSM who sought sex partners via apps were more likely to report sexual minority stigma, racial discrimination, and perceived homophobia compared to app nonusers [9].

Adaptation and Reach of a Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Social Marketing Campaign for Latino, Latina, and Latinx Populations: Development Study

Adaptation and Reach of a Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Social Marketing Campaign for Latino, Latina, and Latinx Populations: Development Study

In this research, we studied the adaptation and reach of a pilot Pr EP social marketing campaign for Latino/a/x populations with a focus on sexual minority men and transgender women, based on community input and needs. Following the success of Pr EP4 Love in 2016, there was significant community interest in a Latino/a/x-centered Pr EP campaign in Chicago. This interest led to the formation of the Chicago Queer Latinx (CQL) Collaborative.

Developing a Mobile App (LYNX) to Support Linkage to HIV/Sexually Transmitted Infection Testing and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for Young Men Who Have Sex With Men: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

The sexual health promotion (Sex Pro) tool is an innovative Web-based app [51] that provides a personalized HIV risk score, based on data from several large MSM cohort studies [17,21,52,53]. This score is displayed on a speedometer (1-20 scale), with a higher score representing a higher level of protection, and was highly predictive of HIV risk among black MSM in HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) 061, with all HIV infections occurring in individuals with a score below 16 [54].
