A family member was defined as a relative in regular contact with a person with T2 DM. Participating family members had to be aged ≥18 years, living in New Zealand or Saudi Arabia, and with access to the internet and a smartphone or computer. Patients were allowed to participate by themselves if they did not want to invite a family member. Family members were also allowed to participate by themselves if they found it more convenient for them.
