Digital and mobile health technologies, including smartphone-based monitoring and wearable devices, have a wide range of applications in clinical practice [1-3]. A clinical “use case” describes how a technology can be implemented in a clinical context, including the expected benefit and expected beneficiary.

In terms of immediacy, respondents mentioned a delay in consultation without RMT either to a clinic appointment or a phone call from the clinician, whereas with the system, the emergency clinical service could receive an automatic alert (for depression relapse) or else prompt a clinician contact if an early sign of relapse had occurred (MS), employing a digital dashboard for the clinical team to manage this for all their patients.
