The first two subobjectives were set at a daily sitting time of less than 8 hours per day per person [9,14,37] and a minimum of 4 hours standing and light activity per day [36]. While not only total sitting time is important but also regular sitting interruptions, there is no direct empirical support for the recommendation of a particular sitting pattern.
