Education could take the form of brief in-services [37], patient stories, hands-on learning, e-learning, lunch-and-learns, education days, and speaking with colleagues [7]. However, it is important to ensure that night shift nurses have the same access to these opportunities as day shift nurses. We only provided implementation support (eg, presentations at huddles and staff meetings, pager support, at-the-elbow support on inpatient floors) during daytime hours.
