The assessments described below will be performed at baseline (day 1) and after the 16-week intervention period. IG participants will also be assessed at 32 weeks. The timetable of the assessments is presented in Table 1. All measurements will be performed by the same research assistant, using identically calibrated equipment, in the exact same environment and at approximately the same time of day (±90 min). Table1. If young Black men who have sex with men indicated no prior Pr EP knowledge, they were provided this brief education: “Pr EP is a pill you can take once a day to prevent getting HIV. Just like women can take birth control, one pill every day to prevent getting pregnant, men can also take Pr EP, one pill every day to prevent getting HIV. Pr EP was approved by the FDA in 2012 and research has found that it can be very effective at preventing a person from getting HIV.”

Feasibility of Data Collection Via Consumer-Grade Wearable Devices in Adolescent Student Athletes: Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

Once the Fitbit Sense was connected, participants were asked to wear the device for as much of their day as possible, including sleep. Patient-generated data were then transmitted to the Fitbit cloud-based database through the internet-connected application. Fitbit then connected to the data management platform, Fitabase (Small Steps Labs LLC), via HIPAA-compliant protocol to allow investigators to access the deidentified data via code link.

Responses to these questions were measured on a 4-point scale from 0 to 3, where 0 indicated “never” and 3 represented “nearly every day.” To comply with the institutional review board requirements, item 9, which assesses suicidality, was removed. The total score was calculated by combining reported values from all 8 questions. In this sample, reliability was fairly high (α=.88) [32]. There were no missing data for this variable.
