Calculation of the sample size was determined using the Cochran sample size determination formula [21], mathematically expressed as:
n = z²pq/d²
Where n is the minimum sample size, z is the standard normal deviate at a 95% CI (1.96), p is the proportion of female undergraduates who are aware of contraception (0.84) [22], q is the alternate probability (1 – 0.84 = 0.16), and d is the precision (5%=0.05). Therefore, 206 was the estimated sample size.
