First, our sample was limited to individuals with SCI/D who had extensive experience managing urinary symptoms and were predominantly White (27/30) and technologically proficient (29/30 comfortable with technology). Despite recruitment efforts through multiple platforms, including advocacy groups, social media, and clinical networks, the study sample lacked racial and ethnic diversity. Thus, findings may not be generalizable to newly diagnosed patients or those with less experience in symptom management.

Compared with Non-Hispanic White people with T1 D, Non-Hispanic Black people with T1 D have 1.5% higher glycated hemoglobin (Hb A1c) levels on average [9] and are more than 3 times as likely to be hospitalized for hypoglycemia or DKA [10,11], yet they are half as likely to be using ADTs [12].

As shown in Table 2, those reporting methamphetamine use were more likely to be White, transgender women or nonbinary, nongay identified, older, and to have never heard of Pr EP. They were less likely to have health insurance, have a primary care provider, and were significantly more likely to have tested for HIV more than a year ago or had never been tested for HIV in their lives.
