Ethical Design of Data-Driven Decision Support Tools for Improving Cancer Care: Embedded Ethics Review of the 4D PICTURE Project

Ethical Design of Data-Driven Decision Support Tools for Improving Cancer Care: Embedded Ethics Review of the 4D PICTURE Project

Feeding into the Metro Map will be the results of two types of models developed in the project: (1) a treatment outcome prediction tool for each cancer type and (2) a conversation tool developed by analyzing patient experiences through text mining. The result of integrating these data-driven tools into the Metro Map will be a personal care path navigator for each patient that serves as a decision aid in shared decision-making.

Comparison of Deep Learning Approaches Using Chest Radiographs for Predicting Clinical Deterioration: Retrospective Observational Study

Comparison of Deep Learning Approaches Using Chest Radiographs for Predicting Clinical Deterioration: Retrospective Observational Study

Furthermore, this simplifies the prediction task to a single time point, making it more feasible to compare multiple models and augmentation strategies. Patients with a chest radiograph within 48 hours before the first elevated e CART score were included in the study. Available anterior-posterior or posterior-anterior views were included in the study cohort.

Provider Perspectives on Implementing an Enhanced Digital Screening for Adolescent Depression and Suicidality: Qualitative Study

Provider Perspectives on Implementing an Enhanced Digital Screening for Adolescent Depression and Suicidality: Qualitative Study

Transcripts were coded by the first author following a template analysis approach [18] with NVivo software (version 14; Lumivero), using a prespecified codebook. The codebook was created according to a hybrid approach, using a deductive approach to generate high-level codes based on the CFIR Codebook Template [15], and an inductive approach to incorporate themes that arose from the data [19].

Safety and Efficacy of Modular Digital Psychotherapy for Social Anxiety: Randomized Controlled Trial

Safety and Efficacy of Modular Digital Psychotherapy for Social Anxiety: Randomized Controlled Trial

Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is a prevalent and debilitating mental health challenge that affects a substantial portion of the global population at some point in their lives [1,2]. Characterized by a persistent fear of social situations, SAD can severely limit a person’s ability to engage in everyday activities, from forming personal relationships to navigating work and educational settings.

Substance-Related Acute Toxicity Deaths in Canada From 2016 to 2017: Protocol for a Retrospective Chart Review Study of Coroner and Medical Examiner Files

Substance-Related Acute Toxicity Deaths in Canada From 2016 to 2017: Protocol for a Retrospective Chart Review Study of Coroner and Medical Examiner Files

Canada continues to experience a national overdose crisis, with a large burden of harms that are inequitably distributed throughout the population. Between January 2016 and June 2023, a total of 40,642 people died of opioid toxicity alone, with associated mortality rates increasing over time [1]. Compared to other countries where data are available, the United States and Canada have seen rapid escalations and persistently high accidental acute toxicity mortality rates [2].

Factors Impacting Mobile Health Adoption for Depression Care and Support by Adolescent Mothers in Nigeria: Preliminary Focus Group Study

Factors Impacting Mobile Health Adoption for Depression Care and Support by Adolescent Mothers in Nigeria: Preliminary Focus Group Study

Perinatal depression, a condition common in pregnant women, is higher among adolescent mothers than older mothers [10,11] occurring during pregnancy and up to one year after childbirth. Untreated perinatal depression is a risk for negative health outcomes for mothers and their infants [12].

Co-Designing a Web-Based and Tablet App to Evaluate Clinical Outcomes of Early Psychosis Service Users in a Learning Health Care Network: User-Centered Design Workshop and Pilot Study

Co-Designing a Web-Based and Tablet App to Evaluate Clinical Outcomes of Early Psychosis Service Users in a Learning Health Care Network: User-Centered Design Workshop and Pilot Study

For example, a narrative review of an MBC approach in behavioral health clinics found such benefits as significantly improving clinical outcomes, improving symptoms more quickly, and decreasing treatment costs [6]. To this end, the EPI-CAL team chose to design and implement a web-based and tablet app called Beehive.

Clinical, Psychological, Physiological, and Technical Parameters and Their Relationship With Digital Tool Use During Cardiac Rehabilitation: Comparison and Correlation Study

Clinical, Psychological, Physiological, and Technical Parameters and Their Relationship With Digital Tool Use During Cardiac Rehabilitation: Comparison and Correlation Study

In a recent review including 57 articles, Jones et al [6] conclude that home-based cardiac rehabilitation leads to an improved Qo L and exercise capacity. So far, there is little knowledge concerning the relationship of patients’ intrinsic motivation and digital tools during home-based cardiac rehabilitation. In a small-scale study with 23 patients, Lu et al [7] identified patients’ intrinsic motivation as a key facilitator for successful rehabilitation with remote activity sensing.

Clinical, Operational, and Economic Benefits of a Digitally Enabled Wound Care Program in Home Health: Quasi-Experimental, Pre-Post Comparative Study

Clinical, Operational, and Economic Benefits of a Digitally Enabled Wound Care Program in Home Health: Quasi-Experimental, Pre-Post Comparative Study

Approximately, a third of patients who use home health have at least one wound [4,5], leading to the allocation of a substantial portion of the budget and resources in a home health agency (HHA) for nursing visits being dedicated to wound assessment and care [5]. Nursing visits in HHAs consume a significant proportion of health care delivery costs, primarily due to the time spent by nurses in assessing and managing wounds [6].

The Use of Mobile Apps in Adolescent Psychotherapy: Assessment of Psychotherapists’ Perspectives

The Use of Mobile Apps in Adolescent Psychotherapy: Assessment of Psychotherapists’ Perspectives

To assess psychotherapists’ perspectives in a more practical way, we conducted a needs evaluation within the initial feasibility pilot testing of a transdiagnostic, therapy-accompanying app for adolescents in 3 different treatment settings: inpatient treatment, psychiatric outpatient clinics, and outpatient treatment with private practice psychotherapists.
