Research has revealed that delays in ED care, such as those caused by overcrowding, can significantly impact patient outcomes, particularly for severe conditions like acute stroke [10,11]. A 2021 study reported an 8% increase in 30-day mortality for patients waiting more than 6‐8 hours in the ED [12].

The assessment results are also viewed by BCMs and the care team to monitor treatment progress and make adjustments to the care plan, as necessary.

Participants are excluded if they either (1) express severe psychiatric illness not indicated for the interventions offered (eg, suicidal, psychotic thoughts, mania, or significant substance use) or (2) are currently in active therapy or receiving support that would conflict with, or be redundant with, the interventions offered.
Interested participants may scan a QR code on recruitment materials or receive a link via email to a digital prescreening survey via REDCap [25,26].

Intervening when depressive symptoms are mild may prevent the development of more severe episodes, yielding substantial benefits for patients, families, and the health care system. Individuals with mild depressive symptoms have been found to derive benefit from unguided interventions [60], and our data further supports the value of a self-guided DCP for menopause-related behavioral health that can be easily accessed.
