It evaluates the severity of symptoms of depression (DASS-D), anxiety (DASS-A), and psychological distress (DASS-S) over the past week. Participants respond on a 4-point Likert scale from 0 (did not apply to me at all) to 3 (applied to me very much, or most of the time). In a sample of parents of children with autism, the total scale as well as all 3 subscales were found to have strong internal consistency (DASS-Total: α=.94, DASS-D: α=.88, DASS-A: α=.83, DASS-S: α=.92) [56].
