A Virtual Self-Management Intervention for Adolescents With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: Protocol for the VISTA-JIA Randomized Controlled Trial

A Virtual Self-Management Intervention for Adolescents With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: Protocol for the VISTA-JIA Randomized Controlled Trial

Young adults living with JIA from participating centers will be asked to sit in during these sessions to share their lived experiences and foster peer social support. Additionally, each site will include site-specific resources. After completing the intervention, participants will be asked to independently attend an optional semistructured interview to capture participant experiences of the intervention.

Influence of Virtual Reality Illusions on Balance Performance and Immersive User Experience in Young Adults: A Within-Subject Experimental Study

Influence of Virtual Reality Illusions on Balance Performance and Immersive User Experience in Young Adults: A Within-Subject Experimental Study

Some studies have noted that certain populations, particularly young, healthy adults, often disregard the VR illusions, undermining the intended perturbation effects [41]. It is apparent that the perturbation effect and immersive user experience should go hand in hand for a successful VR illusion–based balance rehabilitation intervention. Thus, in this study, we aimed to advance the understanding of how VR illusions impact standing balance and immersive user experience.

Associations Among Minority Stress, Allostatic Load, and Drug and Alcohol Use in Sexual Minorities: Protocol for the Queer Health Study—a Longitudinal Feasibility Evaluation

Associations Among Minority Stress, Allostatic Load, and Drug and Alcohol Use in Sexual Minorities: Protocol for the Queer Health Study—a Longitudinal Feasibility Evaluation

Another study found that SM young adults who were raised in highly stigmatizing environments demonstrated a blunted cortisol response to a social stressor [12]. In addition to limited studies linking minority stress processes to individual markers of stress physiology, research has revealed that SMs, compared to heterosexuals, demonstrate different stress physiology patterns. For example, Juster et al [13] showed that SM men had a lower allostatic load (AL) than heterosexual men.

Gender-Based Susceptibility to Mental Health Issues in Adolescents During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Descriptive Study

Gender-Based Susceptibility to Mental Health Issues in Adolescents During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Descriptive Study

One study highlighted that common coping strategies of young adults aged 18‐24 years included “just staying indoors” followed by “talking to people,” “maintaining a positive outlook,” and “trying to do some online school work” [13]. Another study found that children and adolescents engaged in spiritual/emotional activities; cognitive/social activities with family at home; exercise; and managing healthy sleep [14].

Public Perception of the Brain-Computer Interface Based on a Decade of Data on X: Mixed Methods Study

Public Perception of the Brain-Computer Interface Based on a Decade of Data on X: Mixed Methods Study

March had the highest number of posts (n=3686), followed by April (n=3094) (Figure 2). This rise in March’s posts was primarily due to Elon Musk’s announcement of “Neuralink,” his BCI company [29]. The words “Neuralink,” “Musk,” and “Elon” were collectively mentioned 5831 times in March. The number of posts in April can be attributed to the announcement of Facebook’s BCI projects, with the term “Facebook” receiving 1944 mentions [30].

Misrepresentation of Overall and By-Gender Mortality Causes in Film Using Online, Crowd-Sourced Data: Quantitative Analysis

Media portrayal and representation influence thoughts, behaviors, and actions toward certain groups, ideas, and phenomena, that is, the “[m]edia, in short, [is] central to what ultimately come to represent our social realities” [4]. This connection has been studied across many demographic categories and aspects of social reality.
