PRISM’s efficacy has been shown via improved resilience, health-related quality of life, and mental health outcomes for adolescents and young adults with serious illnesses, including cancer, type I diabetes, and cystic fibrosis [18-21]. Although CBT and other evidence-based psychological strategies have strong evidence supporting their use in the treatment of pediatric chronic pain [22], the use of a resilience framework and resilience coaching has not been formally examined among youth with CMP.

Young people around the world report high levels of climate change concern [17], with higher levels of eco-anxiety observed in young people than in older age groups [18-21]. These high rates of eco-anxiety are also related to distress and poor mental health in children [22,23].

Manual title and abstract screening (n=44,559) were then conducted by 2 independent reviewers (M-YY and GIH) based on predefined eligibility criteria. Two independent reviewers (M-YY and GIH) evaluated all potentially relevant full texts (n=444). We resolved discrepancies between reviewers through discussion or by involving a third reviewer (Y-JS) until a consensus was reached. Two authors (M-YY and GIH) performed data extraction, which was subsequently verified by a third author (Y-JS).

To address the unique needs of veterans and civilians with COD and criminal legal involvement, an adaptation of MISSION, the criminal justice (MISSION-CJ) version was developed (Pinals, DA, unpublished manual, April 2014 and Smelson, D, unpublished manual, June 2014). MISSION-CJ is guided by the risk-need-responsivity framework of offender rehabilitation, which posits that rehabilitation should target “criminogenic needs” (ie, modifiable factors that are robust predictors of recidivism) [49,50].

The recruitment period took place between October 2020 and April 2021. Study information presented to all potentially interested participants specified that an incentive for participation would be provided, along with the total potential dollar amount, but without providing any further details. Eligible participants were randomized before consenting and were then sent a consent form specific to their condition.

Breath-Focused Mindfulness and Compassion Training in Parent-Child Dyads: Pilot Intervention Study
Another study demonstrated that Cognitively-Based Compassion Training in parents significantly reduced stress cortisol levels in their infants and young children [31]. Furthermore, many school-based mindfulness interventions have been introduced to enhance well-being in children, and such programs have grown rapidly since the pandemic [30,34,35].
